Puppet Potpourri is an informal musical variety show blending hand, rod, and string (marionettes) puppets. This program is very popular with the pre-school set in its simplicity, yet enjoyable for the older children for its variety of puppet types, and wide variety of music. The show features several of the unique puppets for which Tom Bonham is known. The 30 minute production features the bouncing teddy bear, stacking blocks, Tom Bonham's signature piece - the changing creature, the come-apart skeleton, and many more puppets.
This production is given as birthday entertainment in private homes, as well as an assembly program in larger venues such as schools and community centers. The show is variety of musical numbers with many of the string puppets performing extremely close up with the audience. While this is not an "audience participation" performance there is a close intimacy with audience members and the puppets.
The production is presented in Tom Bonham's arena staging, where the audience sits on the floor around the perimeter of the stage area. Depending on the room layout, the stage allows for 8-40 feet of front row seating.The technical data sheet specifies a larger size than is actually needed.
